WOMEN'S HEALTH

West Wichita Family Physicians has a complete suite of women’s health imaging services. We offer 3D mammography (breast tomosynthesis) which has been clinically proven to detect 20-65% more invasive breast cancers over traditional 2D imaging, reducing the number of times you need to be imaged by 40%. If you have dense breast tissue, this technology has also proven superior in identifying anomalous tissues.

As part of our seamless care, if you come in for a mammogram, and there is an anomalous lump, we are able to provide a breast sonographic assessment to further identify concerns seen on the imaging. In many cases this can provide the peace of mind of knowing you have nothing to worry about without needing to wait days for additional testing.

If questions remain about the state of tissue inside the breast, we have a state of the art biopsy system which allows for high-quality imaging and a faster, more comfortable biopsy procedure

This system is integrated with the initial imaging, providing the radiologist maximum accuracy in identifying and sampling the tissue, so the answers you get back are accurate the first time. 

 

Biopsy results are returned within 24 hours by our radiologist, so your questions and concerns are answered in a timely manner. No more agonizing days wondering about results.
